Near Space Press
An Independent E-Book Publisher of Science Fiction.

About Near Space Press

Despite the explosion of new technologies that  make it easier than ever to create, format, edit, print and distribute fiction, including the massive leap in technologies which support reading on electronic devices, most potential authors are rejected by the mainstream publishers.

Part of this is due, unfortunately, to the lesser storytelling skills of said authors, and to a greater extent, due to the huge numbers of similar story lines represented by the submitted works.  However, one factor is that some works don't fit neatly into the editorial view of the mainstream publishers.

While many of those authors who fall into that latter category do find homes at the smaller presses, there is one group that consistently lacks success.  These are authors of Libertarian fiction.

Near Space Press was formed to create a publishing outlet for science fiction, alternative history and fantasy fiction with just such a libertarian twist.  We are proud to accept stories that fit into this mold.

Currently, we are set up to release libertarian fiction in trade paperback and e-book formats.  Specifically, we use Amazon's ClearSpace (Trade paperbacks) and DTP (Kindle e-books) to market these works to the public.

If you are an aspiring author with SF and fantasy works that support or incorporate libertarian philosophies, please feel free to submit your work.  We accept Microsoft Word formatted .doc files attached to your email inquiries.

Near Space Press has decided to launch by releasing Carl Bussjaeger's novel, "Net Assets", in Amazon Kindle e-book format.  This novel, which has been directly available from Mr. Bussjaeger's website, is a smashing good read yet has never been picked up by more mainstream publishers due to its Libertarian philosophy.

Near Space Press is dedicated to providing a publishing home for these orphaned, libertarian works.
